In 1991, Rob attended a two-year technical college in Minneapolis and received an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Advertising Design in 1993. In 1994, he attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design where he studied drawing and foundation studies. In 1995, he entered a painting at the Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Contest, and it was accepted into the exhibition for display. (See Rob's acrylic painting entitled Calla Lilly.) His painting was one of 82 acceptees out of 480 entrants.
Currently, Rob is a member of the Roseville City Arts Council, and he has donated a painting to the City for public display. He has also recently been hired to do paintings for a national religion book which will be distributed on an international level.
His more recent projects in 1997 include an original theme for a Christmas tree, along with about 100 other designers. This event is called the Festival of Trees. All of the money from this event benefits the Healtheast Bethesda Lutheran Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. In 1999, he donated a painting for public bidding to help raise money for the Minnesota Opera's Guild, with all proceeds going towards students who want to study opera.
This year, he also received his Bachelor of Science degree from NAU.
Through this achievement, he was also awarded a prestigious "Who's Who"
award for outstanding academic performance and participation. His future
goals include to mold his artistic abilities and work on defining his creative
outlet to the point of professionally selling his pieces.
