Monday, May 14, 2001 Hallein, Austria Margit, Angie, Tim, Todd, and I decided to visit Hallein, where Margit and I lived as young children.
After our train ride, we stopped at a cafe in Hallein.

In a short while, my godfather, Hans, surprised us by meeting us in the old city. He gave us the grand tour of Hallein.

Here is the building where I was born. It used to be a hospital.
We lived on the third floor of this house. There was a store at steet level.

Hans treated us to Italian ice cream (I had the tiramisu flavor) and then left us to find our own way back to the train.
We bought cheese, meats, bread, and beverages in a grocery store and had lunch in a park while waiting for our train back to Salzburg.
