Anchorage

Flattop Mountain

Jeff and I got our first glimpse of Alaska's vastness by climbing Flattop Mountain.

Seward

Resurrection Bay

In Seward, we camped on the waterfront of Resurrection Bay.

Cruise Ship

A fjord is long, narrow, and deep and leads out into the ocean.
Cruise ships frequently stop in Seward.

We spent a day on the ocean aboard the Kenai Star.
A Fjords Ranger told us about the history of the area, showed us glaciers, and pointed out wildlife.

Us at Carlo Creek

Carlo Creek campground. We liked it so much, we stayed three nights.
There is an excellent restaurant (McKinley Creekside Cafe) a short walk away.

Us at Alpenglow

View from Alpenglow Restaurant at Denali Bluffs.

We got a tip about a cabin by a lake out on the tundra. We spent the afternoon hiking out to it.
